A very good and tight copy. First English Edition, Translated From the French of C. F. Volney. Listed in Howes USiana V-141 and Sabin 100693. 504pp. 3/4 leather in original boards. Rubbing and chipping to leather, along spine folds, corners rubbed. Top edge gold gilt. Two fold out maps and two fold out plates as called for. One of the plates has edge wear and split, which has been repaired. Maps are in very good condition with the larger map having a couple of tears to fold. Some foxing to preliminaries.
