A very tight, two volumes, brown cloth decorated in gilt and blind (re backed preserving original spines and end papers. The professional re backing of spine is hard to discern. Provenance of Arctic and Antarctic Collection of Gerald F. Fitzgerald, bookplate. First Edition in English, Published posthumously. Bellot joined Capt. Kennedy's Expedition to find the Franklin Expedition from 1851 to 1852. During an overland sledging journey he discovered the strait that now bears his name.
