HE COMMANDED THE USS CONSTITUTION (OLD IRONSIDES), AND SAW SERVICE IN THE BARBARY WARS 1801-1805 AND 1815 WITH THE BARBARY STATES IN AFRICA AND THE WAR OF 1812 WITH GREAT BRITAIN.

A COURT OF INQUIRY CONVENED AFTER COMPLAINTS FROM JUNIOR OFFICERS MAD PUBLIC ACCUSATIONS AGAINST HULL. ON OCT. 15th 1822 THE COURT COUND HULL ACTED PROPERLY & WITHING HIS SCOPE OF AUTHORITY.

FROM 1823-1827 HE HAD COMMAND OF THE PACIFIC SQUADRON OPERATING OUT OF SO. AMERICA ABOARD THE USS UNITED STATES.
